An easy-to-install noise source upgrade for Ham It Up (v1.2+)
The noise source is a complete additional circuit available on all Ham It Up upconverters shipped to date. This noise source will generate and emit wide-band noise through the SMA port. This noise can be output through a device under test (DUT), the output of which is generally connected to a spectrum analyzer (SA) or software defined radio (SDR). The response of the DUT can then be analyzed on the SA or SDR.
This can be used to test and calibrate various RF devices, such as filters, amplifiers and attenuators.
This kit includes the output SMA port and hardware, 2-pin male header, and 2-pin shunt. The header and shunt are used to enable and disable the noise source.
This kit does NOT include a matching end panel for those who have the Ham It Up enclosure. If you have a Ham It Up installed in an enclosure, you can either drill a hole, or consider purchasing kit 'B' from our store which includes the end panel.
NOTE: Very basic soldering skills are required for installation.
